It has a history of more than 60 years for China activated carbon industry. Now there are more than 300 activated carbon enterprises to produce a variety of activated carbon products with the production capacity of 120,000 tons each year in which there are about 60,000 tons to be exported to foreign countries in the world. There are very plentiful resources such as various coals included blind coal, bituminous coal, lignite and peat, coconut shell and pits, sawdust and so on to be able to be made in to activated carbon products for different applications by different activated carbon by vapor activation and chemical activation included zinc chloride and phosphoric acid, coal-based activated carbon and coconut shell activated carbon activated by SREP activation kiln etc. China Activated Carbon Sodality(CACPS) consists of twenty two domain activated carbon enterprises such as Shanghai Coking & Chemical Corporation Activated Carbon Branch, Shanghai Xingchang Activated Carbon Co., Ltd., Beijing North Suburb Activated Carbon Works, Tangshan Jianxin Activated Carbon Co., Ltd., Hangzhou Fuyang Kepeng Carbon Products Co., Ltd., Ningxia Guanghua Activated Carbon Factory, Jiangxi huaiyushan Activated Carbon Co., Ltd. etc. All these enterprises in China Activated Carbon Sodality could produce a variety of activated carbon more than 50,000 tons included 20,000 tons of wood activated carbon, 10,000 tons of nutshell activated carbon and 20,000 tons of coal-based activated carbon as well as catalysis & relevant products made from activated carbon etc. A part of enterprises have been certified by ISO-9000. Every member in this sodality keep the roles "Quality first, service first and customers prior" all the time, and control the quality of products according to the desires of customers and a variety of standards such as China national standards GB, Japan JWWA and JISK, USA AWWA and FCC etc. At the same time all enterprises in this sodality have made great efforts to control the quality of activated carbon and relevant products, have very tight connections between the enterprises and several key universities & institutes such as Xiamen university, Zhejiang university, Beijing research institute of chemical defense, China research institute of coal science, Nanjing institute of forest chemical technology. The activated carbon test center and national activated carbon information center are set up in the sodality to serve to all members. The enterprises in the association have a very strong ability of developing new activated carbon and relevant products, and have much complete test equipment to ensure the products with high quality.
